    Greetings.

A little dramatic but my situation is dire!

Our smart drive 051 is threatening the fabric of my reality by not playing ball. It does this try and work 3 times thing and then beeps at me. After reading your forums I have done the following:

    1) shorted the out of balance switch
    2) pulled everything apart and inspected/cleaned (no water invasion marks)
    3) run the diag mode stuff you posted to someone else with the following results.

lights along top of front panel read 10000010 with the high and low lights on (water level) and the hold and slow lights on.

When I try and reset, ALL the lights come on and it becomes non-resposive. When left for a while the lights on the top chase back and forward (thats kind of cool).

The fabric of reality thing is, if we have to buy a new washer, I will not be able to register my motorcycle…….. I will do almost anything to fix the washing machine!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks in advance Me.

Assuming that your code is correct, you have a rotor position error. This one’s a headbanger. Most likey culprit is duff wiring – check contacts to position sensor and edge connector for cleanliness, corrosion and continuity. Or its the Hall sensor. Or the control board itself.

Power off if doing this yourself.

thanks a heap, I’ll go and clean every spade contact in sight. If it’s the hall effect switch (groan) I think I’m knackered. I’m a biochemist not a physics weener!.

A side question, whats that canister like thingy with a clear tube with a blue plastic cord going to it??

I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with everyone, thanks alot .

    Me.

Sensor probs are normally a sign of leakage from the tub onto the motor via the bearings. Look for a brown stain visable on the rotor.
