Participantwe had had a problem for some time before cycle starts with DE error. By opening and closing several times it eventually would lock and start cycle. Now however it seems to have failed completely.
Is it as simple as new lock? I have noticed on posts that this seems to be a problem with this make of machine.
If there is a simple fix could youb let me know. If it is lock any ideas on likely repair bill?many thanks

Hi Blot,
the problem you have with your appliance is an easy fix and it might not even require parts, check the door catch assembly (on the door itself) very carefully first, as the handle pin has a habbit of comming out for no reason, if it is the door lock assembly (Machine side) before checking please pull the plug first or seek pro help in the repairs toolbox on the lefthand side of the site.Bob

Had this problem numerous times. Only fix is interlock and new door.
Also if it leaks from draw order complete dispenser.

thanks so far -door catch definately OK
I have seen the same problem posted by other owners so would seem to be a bit of a design flaw.
Greg that sounds a bit pricey but I’ll look into it. Interestingly (is talking about washing machines interesting? I must have reached middle age) we did have a leak problem but in our case it was due to the machine being on a no more than 2-3{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} slope forward- levelling stopped that problemcheers blot

Oh and they leak after a while from dispenser. Hot fill on certain washes damages it, only repair is to replace dispenser. Not cheap appliances either.

Hi Blot
the door parts are avaiable as spares so a complete assy is not required,
please have a look in the repairs for a local engineer as this sounds like a simple fix to me. 😀bob.

Yes Bob you are correct . I was used to doing them in warranty so we more or less had carte blanche. I would imagine weak spring in door catch to be problem in all fairness.
