Do you supply parts for Electric showers? I need a solonoid valve for a Gainsborough Energy 2000X Electric shower

I have no idea, which is a bit odd. But Dave should be able to tell you tomorrow if we can or where to start looking. He’s dead smart that way. 😉

Is it just the solenoid coil you need as many are interchangeable with washing machine ones at less than half the price ?

If it’s the whole valve then this site is useful:

Now why can’t washing machine manufacturers do that ? 😉

Re: Gainsborough Energy 2000X Electric shower

Thanks , Dave. We already found this site and e-mailed for the part, but heard nothing yet. Yes, the coil is the only bit I need (open circuit) but I imagine it would be difficult to match it up with another item without the physical part in your hand.
Our coil measures 30mm long by 20mm dia, with a 10mm hole. It has a metal frame wrapped around it, and a label reading: 220/240V, 50Hz, 6W with the number ‘10625006’ underneath. May or may not be useful.
If your shop has anything to match this I would be interested to try it. The family are already complaining about lack of shower facility….

If it’s made by Eaton who make many valves for various home appliances, have a look at this one:

If it is, the solenoid can be carefully pulled off 😉

Hello from a Newbie 😯 …Thanks for an excellent site, I’m glad to have found it………just like the original poster, this topic has particular interest for me too because our 2000x suddenly stopped working last night, Wednesday , during the football 🙁 …..that is, the water ceased to flow….I feared the worst and turned off at the circuit breaker, but happily, today, the shower works fine 😀 …………so, what should I think? the shower is about 4 years old and gets a lot of use in a hard water area…..should I suspect a dodgy solenoid?…….

    Hello fellow Energy 2000x users

I also have just developed a problem with mine. At my usual settings for hot water, it was coming out cold. I had to have it set on high, with the temperature dial set to the max, just to get it to a decent hot temperature.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

    Lodger – very likely yes.

chrisw99 – suspect microswitch or element failure.

Isolate from the supply before attempting anything please :zap:

Please also note, this is a White Goods forum and on the whole we don’t repair showers, I have done quite a few but not for a long time so advice is limited.

    Good old Google 😆

    Dave.
