Hi everyone, I’ve got a problem that I hope someone can help me with…

We have a Zanussi DE6755 dishwasher which is about 2 years old.

We have recently (last 6 months), noticed a bit of a smell from the wash cabinet, and sometimes residual water left in the bottom of the machine, (just higher than the large round strainer).

A couple of days ago, we woke to find the dring phase and program LED’s flashing, and the cabinet full of water. The error code is simply “dishwasher will not drain”.

I understand that this model only has one pump for both washing and draining. My question is how does the machine select each process? Is there a divertor valve or does it run the pump backwards, Etc.??

The pump does run, because the machine washes, (But maybe not as efficiently or powerfully as it should, I’m not sure).

I have checked the impeller blades, (all fine) and the housing and ‘O’ rings, (also fine), and I am now at a bit of a loss.

The outlet hose goes onto a sink trap spigot about 800mm from the floor, (and yes it is clear, as is the hose itself). The spec. says between 1000mm and 300mm is OK.

The machine uses the “Aquapulse” system, and I have noticed that if I hold the outlet hose into a bowl, maybe 600mm or so from the floor, water pulses out of the hose in time with the pump motor. Surely this cant be right as the it’s pumping its water out while actually washing??

    HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!!
