I have an Ignis oven, model no. AKL828/IX. I removed the door whilst cleaning. When I went to reattach the door, the hinges flicked up into the closed position. I now cannot move the hinges to the open position to reattach the door and close the catches. How can I do this?

Lay the door flat safely on a table and ask someone to hold it then pull the hinges to the open position, there should be a lift up tag that secures them in place while you refit it 🙂
It’s not easy on these though to be honest.
Please be careful, these hinges have a poweful spring and watch the door glass outer doesn’t get damaged.

😀 thanks lukesmed for having this problem too… I thought I was going to go insane, finding this info on the internet proved almost impossible and the manually helpfully says ‘ensure you do not disengage the hinge retainer catches’ – which I obviously only read after having done it… 😳 oh well I will just have to phone a friend to hold the door for me, and then the problem is solved.
