    help i smell burning and have clouds of smoke from my dryer looked at back and both thermostats are black. drum not turning but belt in tact i can turn the drum by hand. and i think it a solinod attached to the motor is melted help!!!!!!!!! what do i do is there life for her after fire???

    Presumably the start capacitor has blown, which is cheap and fixable, or the motor itself has gone, in which case a trip to the tip is the only economic option.

    Either way, the dryer has to be demolished to access the motor assembly, so time for a bit of pro help.

    Check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area. If you are feeling brave, please ensure the plug is pulled before working on the machine.

    no thats not me i’m a humble house wife thanks for tip. becase my capacitor is a melted blob how likly do you think that me motors gone as my hubby is willing to give it a go at replacing one? as the thermostst termanial are burnt would they also need replacing? to get the motor assembly out which is the best way please thanks again 🙄

    Generally, you don’t have to remove the motor to fit a capacitor. The drum and front panel do have to go to give you enough room though. The thermostats are integral with the heater unit from memory, so it may be necessary to replace that as an assembly. The heater is in the shop@ module, as are a range of generic capacitors – match the “uf” value for the one you require.

    thanks we are going in today!!!! she wil be rebuilt i have confidence 💡
    i figure we have nothing to loose,ill get a part from the shop you said i hope they can sent it quick as in despratefor quick fix as i have son in hosptail and have to be laundry lady as well as visiter.

    TV 630s were on Watchdog due to fire hazards but I think they were due to heating elements
