My wife likes to keep everything clean on the dryer and so pulls out the condenser unit to clean occasionally.
The first few times she did this it went back in smoothly.
Recently we’ve found that it won’t push back in, no matter how we try, and I’ve got to take the back of the machine off and then ease the lip of the unit through the aperature at the rear (while she pushes from the front) before putting the back back on.
She now has strict instructions not to take it out unless I’m on hand with my tools at the ready. Is this a common problem and is there anything I can do to remedy it?

The condenser housing is a two part moulding – upper and lower “clamshells”. These can become separated or distorted with time. Your real problem with these is access. It’s a demolition job to get into the bottom – the drum will almost certainly have to come out to give enough room.

Thanks for the reply.
I’ve no real problem with access – just whip the back off, ease the belt off then remove another plate and I can see the hole at the back that the unit is meant to slot through. So while my wife pushes it from the front, I ease the lip of it through the hole. All bits back on and plugged back in it takes about 10 minutes start to finish (no need to remove drum).
