ParticipantJust been to a fully integrated Neff d/w today.
Asked the customer what the problem was, got the usual 30 minute explanation 🙄Anyway to cut a long story short, she coplains the d/w cable is getting hot during use. So I ask her where does it plug in, under the sink she says. Had a look at socket found plug connected to 1mm flex, so I tell her that can’t be the d/w. On further inspection found this single socket connected to the ring main, found this flex with plug attached feeding a double socket at the end of the units. D/W was plugged into this double socket!!!. Then in the other side of the double socket is another plug, which then feeds ANOTHER DOUBLE SOCKET on the worktop with a MICROWAVE and TOASTER plugged into it :eeek:
Best part was she’d had an electrician out first and he said the installation was ok 😕

HI
Had one not so long ago, customers ex husband and DIY expert (her kids called him boch it and scarper)customer complained cooker was tripping rcd intermittantly checked cooker insulation was fine and no sign of a short ❓ Turn out he had cut the feed to the cooker and put a 30amp connector on it so he could run there shower on it 😮 I thought it didn’t look right when I realized it was a gas hob.

Good call Martin.
We could be doing with a few new pictures to freshen up some of the picture galleries, so send ’em in if you’ve got any good ‘uns.
Unfortunately r600a photos are unlikely to be posted so please don’t anyone go getting their hopes up!
