I’ve just moved into a new house and have found that the Diplomat Select (not sure of the model number) gas hob has had the little diagrams of what knob does what (decals?) rubbed off. Obviously in time I’ll be able to work out what’s what but it would be nice to put them back somehow. Does anyone know where to get them from? Some form of lettraset? I don’t imagine they have to be Diplomat ones as they’re pretty much all the same.

This must be a fairly common problem as a lot of cleaning products remove them but I haven’t found the solution anywhere.

    Thanks in advance

It’ll be a whole panel….. Model number essential – you’ll need to look at the underside of the hob for a code, typically ADP—-.

Post that up and Dave “The Spare” Conway will try not to frighten you too much.

What’s the best and least destructive way of viewing the underside of the hob?

Assuming there is an oven underneath it, removing that is the only way as the hob will be secured on the under-side of the worktop (or should be).

Drop the oven door down, there should be a couple of screws each side securing it in the housing, whip them out and it will slide forward 🙂

    Dave.
