    Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me with a couple of problems I seem to be having?

I have a Hotpoint FFM70 Fridge Freezer – apologies, I looked for the serial number and refridgerant number in the fridge section but I couldnt see anything!

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that the ‘Freezer High Temp’ light comes on periodically (as far as I can see it is in the evening) and that ice cream isnt getting as frozen as it should. We turned the freezer dial (located at the top of the fridge freezer) from 3 to 4 but it doesnt seem to have made any difference at all.

In addition, the drain in the fridge was over flowing, so I cleaned it but 5 days on it is doing the same thing again!

The only thing I can think that happened before all this started happening was that we moved the fridge freezer slightly so we could paint behind it. Would this have made a difference? Could something have been jolted as we moved it?

Does anyone have any advice how I can solve these problems before I resign myself to paying a fortune to an engineer?

    Thanks in advance!!

Re: Hotpoint FFM70 Fridge Freezer problems!!

try clering the drain hole in the back of fridge by using a thin plastic straw because it blocked (being careful not to loose it down the hole). I have also known for the drain hole not to be punched out in manufacture. With regard to the temp problems, the only thing i can suggest is try giving the appliance a good defrost as there may be excessive ice built up on the freezer evaporator. If this is the case you would need to have this investigated to find the cause of the ice build up. To be honest I would call an enginner to check over both faults
