    Hi,

We have a Smeg DWI67.1 which does not repond when switched on. The LCD display does not show any readings. I have completed the basic checks like the fuse or faulty socket but they are OK.

Has anyone had the same problems?

If it is the PCB how much would one be for this machine?

    Thanks
    Ki

Numerous possibilities, without a test meter almost impossible to diagnose. The electronic boards are generally quite reliable.

Probably engineer time – check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area.

The timer for this model is part number 696290685 and retails for £126.80 excluding VAT 😯

At that price it may be worth calling in an engineer first to correctly diagnose the fault

Can’t find a UKW engineer from repairs@ or Directories for my area (TW2) any suggestions?

Weighing up whether to throw money into a repair or put the repair money into purchasing a new machine.

Same problem. PCB had gone. £200+ is what it will cost.

Damn thing has something else wrong with it now. SMEG = Expensive rubbish. Will be buying a cheap unit next time, with warranty, much more effective use of my money I suspect.
