    Hotpoint DWF40 dishwasher. Went to change the heater which was faulty. Fitted new heating element and stood machine back up to carry out test run. On a quick wash program machine fills wash light comes on, circ pump runs for 30 seconds or so then machine drains and both prewash and rinse lights flash. Checked float in base but no water leaks. HELP!

    sounds familiar.

    we had one, was advised it was the water flow sensor.
    you will find it located bottom left hand side (looking @ it).
    we disconnected the sensor and the machine ran.
    turned out to be a combination of the sensor and flattened pipes.
