ParticipantHi there,
I’m new to the forum, and have a Rosieres Bocuse cooker, about 10-11 years old (DB4040 I think.)
Anyway, both ovens have stopped working, the fan oven about a year ago, and now the catalytic oven has just gone too. (my wife described a burning smell when it happened.
Anyway, I took the back off and it transpires that in both cases the wires supplying power to each oven (the live wire, by the look of it) have corroded and have lost connection.
Each wire has a terminator which then connects to the appropriate part of the oven.
Now I’m not an electrician, but to me it looks like a fairly simple job to replace the wires, especially if you have a copy of the wiring diagram for a Bocuse.
Does anybody know if it you can source the wires as a part? Also has anybody got a copy of the diagram for the wiring on a Rosieres Bocuse?
With what I’ve described do you think it would be possible to do the repair myself if I was able to source the parts?
Any thoughts and advice would be welcome.
Many thanks,
Steve 🙂

Hi Steve, this is going to be a bit negative I’m afraid 🙁
A wiring diagram is a definite no-go, it won’t exist…
But you shouldn’t need one really as the leads are still in place 🙂
Get some high temperature resistant single core flex and rewire the dodgy one’s with new terminals, just remember to disconnect first :zap:

Thanks Dave, that is really helpful…I haven’t looked at the terminals on the old wires with any detail – will I need to solder the terminals to the new wire or do they attach in some way? Apologies if that is a stupid question.
Cheers,
Steve.

They crimp on but if you’re unsure, this shouldn’t be an overly costly job for an engineer to carry out for you, check Repairs@ for one 🙂

Dave – you’re officially a star mate 😛
I’ll try it myself first, and if it looks too dodgy I’ll contact an engineer as suggested.
Many thanks.
Steve.
