I have a tefal smartclean deep fat fryer and the on/off switch is stuck on but the red indicator light does not come on so the fat isnt heating any ideas what could be wrong.

MOST PROBABLY THE OVERHEAT CUT-OUT MICROTEMP FUSE LOCATED AT THE BASE NEAR TO THE ELEMENT

Stripped it down and found that the switch itsself was broke so I remember seeing a switch like that in a dyson hoover and I just happened to have a spare one which I put into it and hey presto it worked ..it wasnt exactly like the other as its a press in to go on and depress to put off but its working and the red light goes out when the fats hot enough and comes back on when it cools so its doing the job…..lol
