ParticipantPlease help! Dryer runs for approx twenty minutes then stops. Plenty of heat so no probs there. Have replaced relay after searching this forum but this did not fix it.
It seems to run one way with heat led on, then stop, run reverse direction with heat off, then stop, heat led comes on but drum does not turn. If i move timer dial one notch it starts up again until the action above repeats and it stops again.
Any ideas????

Probably the Timer? There is a mod kit depending on its ‘Date Code’ 😉 (B/4 Date Code 11 = 1702508 After DC10 = 1702472).
Best get an expert to check this out for you here: Repairs@

Thanks for the reply.
I’m pretty competent at replacing components as I work in the electronics industry so I don’t mind getting my hands dirty!!! (why are insides of these things so sharp I’ve lost count of how many cuts on my fingers) 😆Where would I find the date code you mention and what is this “MOD Kit” and what does it do?
Many thanks 😀

The date code is the basically part of the serial number, one timer is a direct replacement, the other a kit, probably a different make of timer with a wiring mod to carry out.

UPDATE:
Took cover off the dryer and blew into timer assembly (not a sealed unit in a dusty environment-good design!), and it ran for 40 minutes without stopping!!!!
I hope that it is cured, it would seem that dust and fluff may foul the timer mechanism when hot thus causing the dryer to stop so fingers crossed.
Thanks to those who replied to my cries of woe.
