has anybody had any problems with this washing machine.it was first installed in may 2005 and affter 4 months started causing problems;not rotating while washing but counting down program, then when pumping out water to begin rinsing was also not rotating so the result was it banged across the floor, also when it started spinning it would be reluctant to do so and would have a lot of false starts ,had eventully had to switch it off.If I put it back on the next day it might work as if nothing was wrong.I called out the engineer,it took 2 weeks to get an appointment. He was bamboozled but replaced module and eeprom.I received a following appointment to get a new motor replaced. Dispite all this it still caused problems and I phoned once again for the engineer to return as I was getting desperate with 4 children in the house,he returned within 2 days examined the machine and said he would have to replace wiring. At this point I was completely fed up with all this so I returned to Power house to complain and asking for a new machine after 5 days and many phone calls Indesit finally phoned with the good news that they were replacing my machine with one the same, on wednesday 26th October a new machine arrived ,2 days later it to was causing problems and I had to make an appointment for an engineer to call.He rebooted computer in machine . Where do I go from here? 😥 😥

Without being rude about it, you get what you pay for. If you scan back through this forum, you will find countless threads relating to faulty Indesit “W” machines and its Ariston sisters. They are cost engineered down to the lowest possible price, and build quality is shoddy to say the least.

Personally, given that this is the second one that has failed, I would be looking at a different brand. An extra £50 gets you a mid-range Zanussi, an extra £100 puts you into Bosch territory. Hold out for some recompense for all the inconveniencs as well, and you may not have to pay out too much extra at all.

    Good luck,
