ParticipantHello
I cannot tell who the manufacturer is, but the dishwasher is labelled as a Diplomat. It has a light brown wood effect front, on the inside top of the door there is an on button, an off button, then a gap (with word Diplomat written in there), then a bunch of program symbols complete with leds, a selector button, then a final single on/off button with led. It is this rightmost single on/off that flashes 6 times, pauses and repeats. This occurs after turning on the machine which makes a whirring noise (perhaps to drain?), pauses, then emits a constant stream of beeps. The beeps stop upon opening of the door at which point the flashing is revealed.
This all occurred after a plumber moved the machine to fix a tap elsewhere, then put the machine back.
Any help gratefully received – have done a variety of searches including on this site, but to no avail.
Thanks in advance,

I suspect this may be a Whirlpool machine and if it is there should be a label on the right side of the door when it’s open with model and serial numbers.
Basically 6 flashes indicates no water coming in. Pull it out and see if it works, the fill hose may have been kinked when it was put back in place or the valve hasn’t been opened. To reset the alarm, press and hold the start button until the light goes out.
Hope this helps.

OK, thanks for the help DentedPorsche – I suspected as much, so we had the plumber back round and he checked the valve and the pipes, even went as far as pulling the machine out, taking the door off, stuffing it all back and feeling up the pipes again, but he now reckons that is must be the machine not the supply. Like yourself though, I am not convinced…
Will have a look at the door again for more information – the only thing that looks suspicious that I can see is that the salt reservoir seems to be full of water.
I will post again later if can come up with any more information, or failing that, when the landlord gets the engineer round, after he has found the manual etc etc.
Thanks again
