    ❓ Only just discovered you great website!
    The dispenser door has stopped releasing during wash cycle. I have removed the solenoid for checking, and it is faulty. The mechanism is fine.
    I am told that I have to buy a complete dispenser unit, which seems a waste as the ‘offending’ part is easily replaced. The solenoid looks a stsndard unit, and is not marked specific to SMEG. It has a pert number stamped on the metal frame, which is either 0489 or 0480.
    Any ideas where I can obtain one please?

    It is a complete dispenser I’m afraid.

    They aren’t too bad though at £38.48 inc VAT and carriage, part number 812890055.
