ParticipantHi,
I have an Indesit Model DE73 s/n010160718. From time to time and on different days, it has failed to finish the wash and has displayed either of the following fault codes A001 or A005. Has any body got any idea what these two fault codes mean. The machine can usually be coaxed back into action by reseting but this is not an ideal solution.
Why can they put the fault codes in the manual so that everybody knows what is going on.
TIA

From: http://www.gb-online.co.uk/indesit-error.html
A01 = Acquastop operated due to leak / overfill – machine drains until empty + lmin.
A02 = Heater Relay open circuit/short circuit or Thermistor or Safety T/Stat o/c or s/c or Element machine fills to Level Switch & Wash Pump runs.
A03 = Thermistor open circuit /short circuit – machine drains until Level Switch resets +1minute
A04 = Unable to sense/reach temperature in 70mins. – machine drains until Level Switch resets + lminute
A05 = Level Switch not resetting in within 3′ 20″ of drain commencing – machine drains until Level Switch resets +1 minute

Many thanks for that. I can now check to see if it’s anything silly before calling for service

I have just had the same A01 error code occur on my dishwasher.
Do I need to just turn the dial to reset and wait a while for it to finsh or is it one to call an engineer for. ❓
I have cover with Domestic & General but I dont want to call them out if it is something simple.
Thanks
Mark

It has a fault, you have a policy, call them out, that is what you have cover for.
If you interfere with the appliance whilst under a cover, some engineers may refuse to work on it and it may also invalidate your policy 😉Greg

ParticipantThanks Greg,
I hadn’t thought about the invalidation of policy bit.
I shall try and book an engineer and let them come and fix it.
