Hi,
I have a Creda Reversair Sensadry tumble dryer (Model 37751) which today tripped out the RCB for the first time while operating. Now I can’t even plug the machine in (power off, door open) without it tripping the RCB.
The 13A fuse in the plug is OK. I guess there is an earthing fault. Any suggestions as to the most likely place to start looking?
I fitted new thermostats about 6 months ago (and a new drive belt around two weeks ago, as it happens).
Thanks for any help,
Dave
I’d start with the mains suppressor where the cable joins the machine. However, you will need a suitable test meter and the skill to use it safely and correctly to make a correct diagnosis.
If you can’t do this, please get some pro help. Check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area.
Thanks for your advice, Penguin.
On opening up the rear cover I noticed that the plastic covering had unclipped from an in-line spade connector on a live wire to the heater element. I’m guessing that the exposed metal spade connector was shorting out on the rear cover, as fixing the insulative covering has sorted the problem.
Another problem sorted!
