I seem to have some kind of flooding problem with my Zanussi, about every week I get the AL4 error message & this only clears when I tip the dishwasher up slightly & water pours out the bottom on to my kitchen floor! Does anyone have any expertise to know whether this is pretty terminal & I should get a new one (I was given it free by a family member – it’s about 4 years old) or is it something that would be better to get fixed?

I am not very technical when it comes to things like this but it seems to me that there is some kind of flooding chamber at the bottom of the machine that water is escaping in to over a short time period and when it fills up the error message appears.

You obviously have a leak there ….
If you post the model number and the nine digit ‘Pn’ number then we can be more specific.
You’ll find the numbers on a label on the edge of the door

Thanks for the quick repsonse. The model is DES959 & the Pn number is 911886007

You will probably need an engineer to sort it for you, I have seen leaks on these, the worst case scenario being the wash pump seals (the cost of a wash pump is around £90).

Considering the young age of the machine it’s definitley worth a go, it may just be something small and silly anyway.

Have a look in Repairs@ for an engineer near you.
