    Hello Dave,

    You may recall I have a Homark 05-703205 electric fan oven, you kindly answered my queries about it last year.

    Yesterday I found that the oven was indeed on and the fan going, but there was no heat inside. The main house fuse had tripped while the oven was on, so I think the heating element had died and tripped the fuse.

    I’d therefore like to ask how much a replacement heating element will cost, including postage (I live in East London).

    Can you also please send me details of where to make payment.

    One final question: Is it worth changing the thermostat as well at the same time? Might it actually be the cause of the problem?

    The element is This One in the shop, you can order it there, £19.95 plus £3.95 carriage 🙂

    I would leave the thermostat to be honest and try the element first 😉

    Hello Dave,

    Thanks for your reply and for the info. I’ve just bought one using the link.

    I look forward to it arriving in the next couple of days.

    One last thing: I intend to fit it myself, since I’ve watched a surprising number of Caremark/Bernstein engineers take my Homark oven out and put it back in again. Apart from ‘unplug it from the mains first’, do you have any other advice regarding DIY element replacement? No special tools required, etc?

    Element fitted and oven working perfectly the same evening.
