    Hello,
I have just purchased a second hand SUK60MFX cooker and was told it was in good working order (at least they said it was 5 weeks ago before they moved house)

A British gas engineer connected the gas supply to the hob no problem and this is working fine.

However, when I put the plug into the electric socket for the oven/grill it immediately trips the main switch on the fuse box

Do you have any idea why this may be or what i should check/do?

    Thanks

Find out how it’s been stored. If it’s been stored in their garage for a while the element may have become damp.
If this is the case there is no safe way to resolve the issue really other than allowing them to dry out 😕

Thanks, when i collected it it had been stored in a covered outhouse so it would make sense that there could be damp.

Any special drying out techniques that you know about or should i just get a heater and dehumidifier next to it?

    Probably your best bet.

Good air flow round the affected parts will help so it might be an idea to expose the elements & insulation. :zap: :plug:

Please unplug the appliance beofre doing anything. If you are at all unsure how to do this I would advise calling in a professional to do it for you. Try Repairs@ for someone local to you.
