    I have a beko etc and the other day there was a bang and now nothing whatsoever is working on it?I have cheacked the fuses ,socket and the wires but no life .What next ?any ideas gurus ?

    I expect the oven element shorted and blew the trip/rcd/fuse ?

    Power off please if checking yourself :zap: or check Repairs@ for an engineer 🙂

    checked fuses all OK .WHAT DOES RCD MEAN ?power off ani deas ?

    RCD is a Residual Current Device, or commonly reffered to as a “trip”, the resettable things at the main fusebox for your home as most have them fitted now.

    It’s possible that the main terminal block has blown as well, or the clock if it has one as that’s really just a big mains switch as well. Also there’s a possibility of the main changeover switch being goosed depending on how it’s wired up.

    Usually most of the above is pretty obvious and easily seen if they’ve blown. If you don’t see anything too obvious, or you can’t get in then it’s engineer time I’m afraid.
