the poor little mite is only 2 years old and she has a problem – when she has washed she wont move on to the next step etcetc….I have to do it all manually. This happens on every programme. The dial turns itself fine if you mive it onto a different programme by accident. Does anyone know what medicine she needs to fix her?????

    Sounds just like a Woman!

These machines are controlled by a microprocessor on the main circuit board, not by the timer itself. Usually there is an error code showing when there is a fault. Does the mains indicator flash in a series of flashes when the fault seems to appear? If so, can you count the flashes between the long pauses and post back with the number of flashes.

In general, any appliance that will not advance on it’s own is usually waiting for something to happen. eg filling or heating.

Can you check first that the water is turned on to the machine, both hot and cold, before going any further.

LOL I’m not a typical blonde – quite techhy being a developer 😆

the light just flashes constantly and it wont drain all of the water out. when you pop it manually onto spin it drains the water fine!! Had the kick panel off but cannot for the life of me turn the black filter 😈

It doesn’t sound like a pump problem as it wouldn’t pump out manually.

When it sticks in program, how long far into the program is it (in minutes) and is it doing anything or just sitting there? Is there a gentle hum coming from the machine if you listen carefully?

its always when it is supposed to move onto the next section eg at the end of washing, at the end of spinning etc. It sits there constantly and wont do anything at all unless you manually stop the wash and move it onto the next step yourself. Yep it does hum constantly when its “stuck” – sounds like you might know something 😆

Make sure that the cold water is coming in ok: Turn the cold supply off, disconnect the hose at the machine end and put the hose into a bucket, then turn the water on again.

If the water doesn’t comes through at the same rate as your kitchen cold water tap then you have a plumbing problem. While doing this, check that the water pressure is ok. If you can stop the flow of water with your thumb then you may not have enough water pressure to operate the valve in the machine.

but then surely the water wouldnt enter the machine, which it is doing fine. its when it finishes each each stage we have the problem 😥

    Re: Ariston A1535 problem AAAAAHHH!

It could be a number of things that would cause the machine to stick in a program and it’s best to eliminate each obvious problem in a sequence.

90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of problems with the machine not advancing are caused by the machine waiting for something to happen and the most likely is the water not entering fast enough, that’s why we would go for that option first. Once you have eliminated that possibility it’s time to look deeper for the problem.

Although the machine seems to pump out ok when you manually select a spin program, it could be a faulty pump that fails at a certain temperature.

It could be the program stepper motor (the mechanism that advances the timer) but I have never seen one fail on this make of machine and I have been in the business for 18 years!

The other possibility is a faulty control module… But you really don’t want to go down that line…
