Oven element earth pin

    Hi,

    We’ve got a fan-assisted electric FOGH/GÜNKOL oven – SS (A0900-31).

    The element’s blown and I’ve been to the local cooker shop and he’d never heard of it before, but measured up the element and said an OE 8032 (marked EGO 20.40112.000) would work.

    Having got it home and unwrapped it, I’ve discovered it’s got two pins where the old one had three including one for the earth.

    Now, I’m not an electrician, but not earthing it sounds like a bad idea, so where should I attach the earth on a two pin element? Or is this the wrong element and I need to change it?

    In theory the element is already earthed as it bolts to the chassis but there is a good chance that grease/dirt can remove the connection.

    Personally I would ask for another element, ask your supplier for ELE3355 or an equivelent, he should recognise the part number, it’s this one:
