ParticipantI have an MW059AU (Pride smartdrive) and it keeps turning the solenoid on and off whilst it is trying to fill. When I press the wash temp down and power button together I get no fault LEDs. After a minute of normal operation the machine goes into fault. From left to right they are 10000010. I tried bridging out the OOB and door switches but had same result. I thought it might be a water level problem, I can blow air through the level indicator tube and suck water back through. I tried pushing down the plunger on the level transducer whilst trying to fill the machine, this causes the solenoid to turn off but the machine does not proceed to the next step. Would you recommend replacing the motor control board? My local distributor has one in stock but as you know it is an expensive part. The machine is only 3 years old. I look forward to any advice anyone could give me. Thank you.

The code given indicates a fault with the motor position sensor! These seem to be prone to corrosion problems. I imagine that the tub is suppose to revolve during fill? Presumably the computer is resetting to try and get the motor to run, so is turning the valve off at the same time. Check sensor and wiring first, if that checks out OK then the motor speed control board is the likely culprit.
Power off if checking underneath.

Right on it P
Check all the time for moisture on the sensor Ther is also a mark 2 sensor 420206p which you should replace the orig one at the same time as your module will last longerMarch 8, 2006 at 7:50 am #154572leeway

Hi Guys, I am new to this site and I have exactly the same problem with the same model.
However, I do not know much of the terms and part names. Is there some information I can read to get the basic understanding of the parts and function etc?
Thanks

There’s no publically available tech info on these I’m afraid – it’s all mostly in our heads!
The motor position sensor is mounted underneath, on the motor casing and can be identified by three wires running to it.
If you’re really not sure, please get pro help – power off if you are going to investigate further.

My machine has this problem as well. I got a repair guy to give me a quote and he said it required a new motor controller that is $280.
I managed to get the part for free from a friend and installed it, and I still have the same problem, so it must be the sensor as mentioned on here.
I’ve found while it is filling and turning off and on, if you open the lid and give the bowl a spin, after you shut the lid it will continue to fill as normal and the bowl will turn while it is filling (as it should). But then it won’t turn when it gets to the wash stage.
Is the only way to access the sensor from under the machine? and can this part be replaced easily?
Cheers,
Ben. -
