just been given a hoover softwave 1100 washer/dryer but the dryer is blowing cold air and there was no instruction manual on how to use the dryer model no a8754

You could phone GIAS (Hoover/Candy Service) on 0870 9502943 for the manual if they still have them.
I think though that there may be a fault with the appliance as these are prety straightforward to use. Main timer on one of the dots and select the drying time from memory.

Like Dave says the machine stops its cycle on a drying position, all programs listed on the left hand side of the soap draw get a “Hot” dry all programs on the right get a lower tempreture drying cycle as they are delicate wash programs. If the machine is going through the motions and the timer dial is selected for more than twenty minutes (last twenty mins is cool down cycle) and is still not getting hot you need a service engineer.
