ParticipantRecently our washing machine has been acting strangely. When a wash cycle completes it still shows as locked. It has obviously not drained as it is still full of water. It does allow me to then put it on to drain invidually and then set to spin. Having done this there is still a little water left as some of the clothes are very damp. I am not getting an error code. I have looked into the filter but could not see a problem.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks
Stephen

I think you may have a blockage or the pump may be failing.
Check the waste hose where it connects to the sink trap (if it does) as blockages can occur there.
Power off if you go any further please :zap: or check Repairs@ for an engineer who can check it over for you 🙂

Thanks
Have checked the waste pipe and cant see any blockage. Forgot to say that when it first started this I checked the pump prechamber and found a 1p coin and a few panel pins. I assume there is no “filter” anywhere that I should check? I am alos a little worried if I am missing any bits. The coveri is round and when removedthere is another circle with a hole in it joined to the cover by two sides. With the circles on the top and botttom if looked at from the side (with a side facing you) it looks like a capital I. With the sides at the side it looks like a capital H has been removed from the middle!. Am I missing anything? Also if you think the pump is on its way out is it worth repairing? I notice that I do not get any repairmen near me at your link for EH14. Lastly I heard that there is a 5yr manufacturers parts warranty. Do you know if my machine qualifies? I bought it in 2003?
Thanks

The front piece which you have removed is the filter. Have you checked right back into the impellor chamber? Hands knees and torch is the best way. Check that the impellor “pings” round whilst your down there – it should resist, then ping round. If it’s stiff it will need to be replaced. It’s in the shop@ part of UKW.
