ParticipantHi,
I am trying to identify this stat from a 20 year old built in fridge. The units are Schreiber and the fridge came with the units. The model number inside is 93415.
Thanks
Laurence
PS…could you recommend an alternative and the connections. Three tag (not inclu earth tags) with one a light/heater tag.

If it’s a larder fridge, whack a VT9 in it 😉

I fitted a new ‘stat to a Schreiber APM6314 built-in larder ‘fridge back in April. I probably used a VC1 or maybe a VT9 and didn’t keep the old ‘stat or note its number.
Now the customer has been on to me saying it freezes up and they have to keep defrosting it. They haven’t called me till now because they were busy.
Anybody know if I need a particular ‘stat or was it just a dud?
Thanks,

Hi
this is a MFI model and the normal cause of the back wall freezing is the rear liner has become unbonded from the evaperator.
if the fridge is defrosted is there a small like spongyness on the rear wall ?
if so then the appliance is BER,if not then the correct stat is different to a vt9 as the temp doesnt regulate correctly,i had this when worked with expert and had multiple visits until them had a modified stat.
i have this stat if needed

Many thanks for your prompt and very useful reply, Bryan. I’ll go and have a look at it again and come back to you.

Well I went back this afternoon. Turns out it’s an exposed evaporator model after all. Thinking that I had previously fitted a Ranco, I took with me a Hotpoint 250341177. (AKA Gen. Electric) two tag job.
Found the one I had fitted was exactly that 🙄
Anyway, changed it for the new one, explained that if that didn’t work I’ll try and find the specific one for the model. Maybe I had managed to crimp the capillary…..no I can’t find any sign of that. Oh well, wait and see.
