ModeratorJust the sort of really wierd one you need when you are busy. 😥 😉
just over 12 months old, very lightly used., ( they spend all summer in their caravan in Wales, no accounting for taste 🙂 )Machine looks as though it has just been unpacked. Inital complaint was that they could not start the drying cycle, It was working fine the last time they used it a few months ago.
In fact the whole programming seems up the spout. At one stage the display was just going through random figures and symbols and some total gibberish as well. After switch on ‘Select Programme’ appears as normal.
If you press programme buttons A to E the display shows the correct programme and the machine beeps, it also beeps if you press any of the option buttons along the bottom of the control panel. The ‘cancel’ button also works , but if you press buttons E to G or the start button after one of the programmes that will select, it is dead. You can select the module configuration which strangely on one instance displayed the software version (never seen that before) it will scroll through the various model options, but you cannot display the language. if you try to select a test programme, the display shows ’50°-Wet Test’ as it should but nothing happens when you press the start button. I did manage to get the other buttons to select and beep once by holding the console facia away from the machine, but very detailed examination of the tracks on the flat links and all the buttons reveal no faults, and as the machine has never been touched before I do not think the problem is in this area.I have ordered a control module and will give that a try, never seen anything like this before though.???

Turned out to be a small kink in the flexible circuit, 1602851 that is causing intermittant contact. Must have been damaged on factory assembly. Virtually impossible to see with the naked eye, never had to change one of these before which is suprising given how delicate they are.

Is that one of those delicate see through ribbon cables? Must look out for that in future. Thanks for taking the trouble to keep us informed, not like these bods who post a prob then disappear! 🙄
