    Hi Everyone

I hope you can help here. Our washing machine has thrown up a fault whereby the spin light flashes but we cannot do anything with it. Have turned machine off and on at power point but no difference. We cannot move past the flashing spin light.

Any ideas would be greatfully received

Did it “beep” as well as lighting up the spin light? If so, this should indicate an out of balance condition which you should be able to reset. If this is completely random and will not go away it does rather point at the computer. Time for pro help? Sounds a tricky one to diagnose properly.

Penguin45, thanks for the quick response.

No beep, just a light blinking in the spin position on the display. Sounds terminal?

The machine was functioning Okay until one day water was filled into the machine accidentally before the machine was turned on. When the power was turned on the spin light came on.

Had to empty water but the problem remained after water was removed. It dosen’t appear to matter wat button or combination of buttons are pressed the light remains blinking. Is there a master “reset” button or sequence?

    Regards

Turn machine OFF on the front panel. Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. Press the advance button once, then press the spin speed up button until the hold and slow are lit. Write down the LEDS which are lit across the top row of progress LEDS. 😉

Re: F&P 501 Fault – Spin Light On

    Hi, thanks for the responses

Cannot get into diagnostic mode as no buttons will respond to being pressed. We can only turn off and on from the wall switch and not on the washing machine, does this mean the control pannel is faulty?

Have checked for water/dampness in the top sactions of the machine, power off and plug out of course.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. If it is the control panel (is this also the computer referred to by Pengiun 45?) is it a simple task to replace. I understand here in Australia you can only get a reconditioned changeover unti as new replacements are not sold. They are approximately A$165.

    Thanks and regards

The concensus suggests the display module (the top one). Obviously we can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure. The part number is 425360, which should allow you to get an accurate price.

If you are at all unsure, you should get pro help to avoid an expensive mistake!

As I see a lot of these its more likely to be the lower one display panels cpu faulty i would say less than 0.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} not a good bet. Get a motor moudule as you can get a S/H display easy as a lot of those machines are dying
