Participanthi i would appreciate advice on the following – My current fridge has developed a problem, it has a big block of ice at the back yet isnt really cold. it is over ten years old so perhaps it is time to let go.
I have considered buying either
bosche kgu31125g
( on recommendation from this site on another posting) or
miele KFN84625.
Both are available for approx £400.
there is a cheaper option , LG GR359SQ ABOUT £250 and also frost free.I expect the first two are about the same but am tempted by the miele name. perhaps you could advise. I am thinking that the LG is too cheap, perhaps this is just a good bargain, ❗ ❓
i would really the appreciate advice , ( the site has helped already but i want to be more sure than I am at present,
thanks in advanceNovember 24, 2005 at 8:16 pm #155455admin

Frost free brings its own problems…having more electrical components than a conventional appliance.
LG, imo is not reliable enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Miele. The golden rule is you get what you pay for, therefore if you buy the Miele and it goes wrong expect good service, by the LG (imo) and weep.

KevinBosch and Miele everytime  . Service and backup much better than the others and the Bosch comes with a two year guarantee too 😀

thanks to both Kevin and Don for the advice.
I would appreciate a few more suggestions on which of the two models i mentioned might win out in terms of reliability and efficiency. The Miele has been reduced considerably , are there reasons for this, have there been problems 👿 Does anyone know? It does have less freezer space than the Bosche so it could come down to personal preference. I have a Miele vac that is the best I have ever bought. But this fridge freezer is at the bottom end of the Miele range and i wonder if it is as good as the others. 🙄One more question, Kevin mentioned frost free as coming with its own problems, do they come with lots of problems or just very occasionally ❓
thanks again Lfant

Hi
I assume the Miele model is KFN8462S 😉
There is very little difference on paper between the two. The builds are very similar as is the after care service. It just depends on what you like the look and feel of really.
I see from the Miele website that they are now offering a two year warranty as standard too.
You can view the Miele here http://www.miele.co.uk/
I like the Bosch KGU31125 the spec can be viewed here.

yes, thanks again , i have gone to a store and checked out the two and the bosch is a better size and style too.
i will wait for the ‘sales’ as i think if i regularly defrost the ice block at the back of the old zanussi fridge freezer my present machine is functional, for now,
best wishes -
