ParticipantWe are about to refit the kitchen & have space for a range cooker, up to 100cm.
We have already decided upon other Siemens appliances. Therefore the first choice was going to be the Siemens 90cm dual fuel range cooker.
BUT:
We would prefer a gas oven (as well as the gas hob).
We’d also like a double oven if possible.
So we’ve been considering other manufacturers, in summary:Siemens: 90cm, 2 year warranty, looks great, BSH build quality, but it’s only a single, electric oven 😥
smeg: 100cm, 1 year warranty, double oven (but both ovens are electric ovens).
Lofra: 90cm, 5 year parts warranty (1 year labour), gas main oven / electric secondary oven.
So the Lofra has the right features & a better warranty than the smeg, BUT: having trawled your forums I am confused regarding the quality of both smeg & Lofra 😕
smeg are often cited by moderators as being an example of a “quality” oven manufacturer, yet the forums are peppered with queries from owners regarding faults on smeg ovens.
Lofra: there is little info., but the usual advice is that you get what you pay for……………and they are VERY cheap.
So I’m tempted to go for the Siemens after all & do without the gas / double oven.
Or should I be looking at a different manufacturer altogether?
Please help, any advice appreciated.

Hi
The Siemens range as you know is always going to give a good build, offer a good selection of features and is backed up by a two year guarantee. The after sales service is also excellent.
As far as Smeg is concerned I only know their refrigeration range (however I`m sure someone will pop in soon and advise 😉 ).
I first saw the Lofra range at the annual trade show in March this year and even my wife ( who is not in this industry ) was very impressed by the build factor, style and price. They are a new brand to the UK from Italy where they account for over 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of their home market in cooking appliances. It`s really a time thing as to how they fare in the UK. We have sold a couple of these so far and we have had no problems and they are well packaged. The engineer who installed these was impressed by the ease of installation and the quality of the build.
Hope this helps in your`e decision making

If you have a worthwhile budget, definitely look at the Brittania and Mercury products. Expensive, but quality.

I would go for a Either Rangemaster professional/classic or falcon both 90cm (both same base cooker but falcon has much stronger build and looses clock)
I worked for these and the breakdown rate was really low and customer satisfaction was high.
Parts easy to get hold of out of warranty too. -
