Participant😈 I have an inbuilt dishwasher and i cannot get the door open. I dont know whether this is a common problem but it would be nice to get into the dishwasher so I can eat off some of the things that are in there! If someone can give me any help to how i can get in it it would be much appreciated. I think the latch/catch may be broken as there is nothing jamming it from inside.

The model number would be useful as there are several variants (look up your user booklet for that info 😉 ).
Forcing the door open is often the only way we in the trade tackle these problems though, then order and fit new door locking mechanisms 🙁

Thanks. The model number is KLS61. If it needs forcing open an ideas on what you would use to force it open and the best place to attack it without causing too much damage!!

I use a stiff wire hook placed through the handle grip into the mechanism and a sharp yank on the door trim. ……not as easy as it sounds, the first one took me 30 mins before I sussed the correct approach. ❗
Can make a grown man cry in the process and I’ve seen one totally buggered by some ‘have a go husband’ (as we say in the trade 😉 )
You have been warned!!! (see below for help by the way……

one wire coat hanger… 10 mins later…..and have a go hubby gets it open….no tears but the air was very blue!! But I think it was more luck than judgement. Going to have some dinner now and a cuppa…thanks very much for the advice 😀
Afterwards going to attack (as we have a go hubbies say) the door latch. Any advice would be much appreciated?! Or am I pushing my luck?? Either way an order for parts is coming your way.
A big big thank you again
