My Ariston has recently not spun on occasions. Setting the machine to redo a spin has worked until now. Today it will only spin if nothing is in the drum. Any suggestions please.

The brushes in the motor are worn by the sound of it, not an expensive repair 😀

Please check the repairs@ link at the bottom of my post 😉

My husband has now checked the brushes and the man in the repair shop nearby said they were fine so he gave them a quick clean and rub with some abrasive paper as advised by said man. The spin worked fine for three days and now it has stopped again. Any ideas? The machine is about 9 years old now so is it time for a new one?

It will be either the motor or the module then I would think.

Perhaps ask your local guy to come and have a look or take the whole motor to him for inspection ?

Don’t forget to switch it off please ! :zap:

Thanks Dave would it be the motor if the only thing not working is the spin. The drum still turns and the water drains out. My husband can only work on it at weekends so its a slow process!

Motor or module can cause this, as could the pressure switch and even the timer (but rare).
