    Hi, Probs with the above,
would appreciate a nudge in right direction to find the fault.
Fault- Turn dryer on, drum turns, starts to heat (rear of machine hot to touch), then cuts out. Press dry again, same happens again. Sometimes it might make 2-3 mins , some lot less. I had the Thermosts changed a couple of months ago by an engineer, saw what he did could replace these, but it has heat so dont think its these…………..any ideas / advice greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance. 😉

It will almost certainly be the relay 🙂

    You can get one here

Power off please before removing any panels :zap:

Relay, Cheers. Will it be the relay if it does not start at all?
I have just closed the door tried to dry, it started for a minute or so, stopped. Opened door, tried again (dont know why!?) this time the ‘push to start’ button will not remain in, there is no catching, will not go on? Is this still the relay, or additional problem to relay?

Thanks for your swift response, greatly appreciated.

The start button isn’t meant to stay in 😉

But yes, it still sound like the relay, try it again 30 minutes later and it will probably work for a short time then cut out again.

Thanks Dave…. 😳 , Your right, It doesn’t stay in….and it started for short while. If you lived local i’d get the beers in!! Many thanks, I’ll order the part, have a little peak (machine unplugged) if its out of my league i’ll pay an engineer to fit.

    Again, many thanks. 😉

I too have a problem with one of these dryers.

I have replaced the thermostats AND the relay.. but the machine is not heating up unless you ‘coax’ it into it by holding the timer dial.

Am i right in presuming that’s the next replacement part?

    😕

    Re: Hotpoint TDC30 Condenser

It sounds like it to me, if you’re sure the heater itself is OK then it all points to the timer but I obviously can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.

For future readers, the relay has no bearing on the heating 😉

Timer part number 1702508 at £29.62 inc VAT and carriage.

I can order if required, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk please 🙂

    Dave.
