    Oh 😳 .

Whats the best way to get to the diverter/ heater unit on a Bosch SGS43A12GB/27. Does it hinge the way the old slimlines did or is there another way. Not had to split one before and didn’t want to appear too much of a numpty to the customer. So I just thought I’d ask. By the way it’s leaking from what looks like the diverter motor, will we be needing a full heater unit or are seals etc available seperately.

This is one of the ‘I don’t want to spend much on it’ crowd so I don’t want to waste too much time before she cries stop 😉

I can’t think which that model is off the top of my head. Is it the slimline one with a microswitch on the heater? 😕

No thats a full size cavity off job, not a bad job once you have done a hundred or so.

Will post a thread relating to this in a bit.

    Re: Embarassing Bosch question

Cannot actualy find that but, basicly its:
2 screws around the sump moulding and the 2 on the upper spray tube base from inside, undo the salt container ring nut while you are there.
both sides, lid and weight off, 2 screws at rear that hold the stainles cavity to the plastic base. With door closed, lift off the spring loaded plastic hooks with the string on that tensions the door hinges, remove the plastic clips from the door hinge pins and lift off the door, and just above the hinges, there is a screw each side into the cavity. The water system on the right hand side does not need to be disturbed but just release it from the black cavity insulation as it may be stuck to it. The whole cavity can then be lifted clear and bunged well out of the way. The sump and heater can be lifted out but the drain and other corrugated hose needs pulling out so watch out for the water that will poor out, there is a couple of screws under the heater into the sump and the hose clip to the circ pump needs cutting off or undoing, you should get a new one with the heater, the heater will then pull away from the sump moulding.
In true Haynes manual style, re fiiting is a reversal of the dissmantling instructions. Beleive me, given a decent bit of space available its a 30 min job.

Long ago, in a post on UKW before ISE began, one of the BSH lads said that it was the way to do it…… All you’ve got to do is drain the matrix and it won’t flood anyway.

On a crate or similar on its back (not the Penguin).Remove all base retaining screws and release hinge springs out of base.
Once that all done give base a good tug and should fall away to an extent.
Find and keep float safe 😆

Heater will be accesible still a b@tch of a job, new models have 2 screws and base off job done.

    Using this technique…..

What about the Rinse aid liquid spilling into the control panel?
The weight of the loose door just dangling from the wiring harness?
Salt water pouring out of the reservoir?
The motor falling out of its rubber mounts on reassembly?

Here is the earlier thread on the subject you were looking for Mark :-

Used Marks method on it today, little bit slow due to reading it letter for letter, but not a bad job at all.

    Cheers 😉

I am glad that Tony overcame his embarrassment to post this question as I found the replies most interesting and informative. Is the “Tank Off” method deemed the easiest way to change the circulation pump also?.

interesting, never, ever, ever had to fit a heater on a new style bosch.

Done absolutely loads of motors and seal kits, and the stupid electrochemical corrosion holes………….. but no heaters.

From what i recall the housing unclips from the microswitch end, and the heater slides out.

    Have fun.

    Hi
I have never seen that performed or available as a spare. Always complete in plastic housing and stats.
