Do you know if there is such a vacuum cleaner as a Smart Vac model Z1490?
The reason I ask is that I wanted some new filters and bags for my Electrolux Airstream z1490. I went to a website to buy them, typed in z1490 in the search box and up came a link to some filters and another link to some bags. z1490 was listed in the supported models for each (as expected) so I duly ordered them.
When they arrived the filters fitted fine, but the bags didn’t. Looking at the packet (after opening it 🙁 ) I realised that z1490 is not even listed as suitable model for the bags.
The company in question is claiming that the bags were not suitable for an Airstream z1490, but only for a Smart Vac z1490 (which to be fair to them is what their website says if you look very carefully). However, I think that this is just a mistake on their website and they are refusing to admit it. No other vacuum bag website mentions such a thing as a “Smart Vac z1490” and it isn’t listed on the packaging for the bags either.
They are offering a refund on the unopened packet (if I pay the return postage), but nothing for the others. It’s not really the money since we’re only talking about £5, but the principle since I believe them to be in the wrong, but refusing to admit it. Then again maybe I’m wrong and a Smart Vac z1490 does exist in which case I’ll forget it and just remember to never buy anything from them again due to their poor customer service.

There appear to be three versions of the Z1490. However, they are all listed as having the same paper bag – 326520-55/8 is the genuine Electrolux part number.

Have been looking around and from what I can see they are the same cleaner . and use the same bags.

It is hard with E/lux, as they make a couple of hundred million different bags.
I’ve found a smartvac 1489 and a smartvac 1491, but no 1490. Like you said, the 1490 is an Airstream.
