Hi there, I moved into my new house a month ago or so and there was a fitted fridge freezer in the kitchen. I’m pretty sure it was from MFI as the hob / oven are made by Diplomat but I’ve got no idea as to the brand of fridge freezer. The fridge doesn’t seem to be that cold despite being on 7 but there is a mysterious button by the temperature control that lights up when you press it. Does anyone know what this might be? I’ve tried a few days with it on and now I’m trying with it off to see if its any different.
In addition there back of the fridge has small amounts of ice on it so I know its working but the fridge still isn’t that cold. I’m hoping that the mysterious yellow light might fix this but if it doesn’t anyone have any ideas as to what’s wrong? – previous owners didn’t leave ANY manuals!
If you remove the salad bins the model should be there somewhere 🙂
The orange switch is either fast freeze or it could switch a low powered heater (the lamp sometimes) on in the fridge to combat low ambient temperature problems (not required in a kitchen).
Ok, so I’ve found the model – its a Diplomat APM 6842. Came back home to find the fridge marginally cooler after having the orange button switched off but still not as cool as it should be in my opinion.
Now you have the model no. can you identify what the orange button does?
It’s the heater switch as I thought, if it still isn’t operating correctly with it off check the unit has sufficient ventilation as poor air supply will affect integrated refigeration.
Apart from that it’s engineer time to be honest, check the repairs@ link below 🙂
