ParticipantHi guys,
Problem with my Indesit WE14. First sign was when machine flashed a f-12 code. However machine worked for two more washes although spin wasn’t as fast as it should be. Situation now is that when I try to switch it on, the door locks but the lock sign (a wee key) won’t appear on the display and therefore the machine won’t start. Can anyone help? If more details are required I’ll be happy to help. By the way, I have already tried unblocking the pump and retrieved some rubbish but the problem still exists. Thanks guys

F-12 is a communication error between the control modules which could mean a number of things, it may just be the ribbon cable is poorly connected.
If you’re having a look yourself, please power off :zap:
If you need an engineer, check the repairs@ link below 🙂

Thanks for the reply Dave. Would the ribbon cable connection cause the problem I described?. If so how do I fix it?

Sorry to be a pain guys. But a bloke’s desperate. If this is one I can fix myself I’d be most grateful for your advice as I have no washing machine, a wife who is almost frantic about this and as much money in my pocket as Carol Thatcher has toilet manners! HELP!!!

Try removing the ribbon cable from both PCB’s and push back on again, it may just be a poor connection 😉
If that doesn’t work then it’s most likely a PCB fault.

Thanks again Dave. Whats a PCB though? And if it is a PCB fault am I right to assume that its an engineer job?

PCB = Power Control Board or Printed Circuit Board 🙂
Engineer time now I think to be honest 😉
