ParticipantHi all,
I have a Hygena APL8224/1 which has now stopped emptying. It hasn’t been the best behaved machine and so I am thinking of replacing it rather than laying out for a repair (again). The Hygena is integrated, with a door panel that matches the rest of the kitchen. I have been looking at the Bosch SGI43EO2GB. I just wondered if anyone knew whether this is likely to be able to slot into the existing space, and whether I can move the door panel from the Hygena to the Bosch.
The reasons I am concerned are that the Comet website quotes the Bosch as 60cm- the Hygena is 59.6cm wide. Are these just nominal values and is the Bosch likely to be the same actual width?
How do I tell if the door panel will fit another make of dishwasher? Are these standard components, or do MFI make a door that specifically fitted the Hygena and I will have to try and but another to fit the Bosch (this could be very difficult – I expect the kitchen range is no longer in production).
What is the difference between integrated and semi-integrated?
Any help would be great

The slot-in size of the machine should be OK as with the door panel. BUT it would be far better if you measured the panel yourself and actually checked with the showroom model you intend to buy first in the showroom. Internet information (measurements etc) can often be inaccurate, far better you double check directly 😉
Fully integrated means the controls are hidden on top of the door with a full height door panel. Semi-integrated has the controls visible at the front with the panel attached below 🙂

Should fit ok but may need some adjusting of the wooden kick board infront of the bottom of the dishwasher. Often we have to cut a new, lower slot in this to allow the door to pass without catching. Your old dishwasher is semi intergrated or some call this draw line, so ensure you get a simailarly titled replacement.
