Candy not taking detergent

This is the Candy that uses a pump to run the wash water through the detergent dispenser to take the detergent.

I have got a machine with an intermittent fault where the pump doesn’t always operate. Unfortunately it’s not the obvious worn or blocked pump. I have checked and am not getting any power to drive it.

Can anyone tell me if this is supplied solely by the timer or are there any other things that could affect if this runs? It seems that sometimes when I reset the program it will run then the next it might not.

At the moment I’m inclined to think it’s an intermittent problem with the timer as I have eliminated the pump from the equation.
