Hi, I am having a problem with the oven of my Cannon Cambridge. The oven will light but only stays on the low flame. We cannot regulate it at all. This happened after a power cut in the area. really need it sorted so we can cook Xmas dinner. Any ideas on what could be wrong and what spare parts are needed? Also need to replace the handles on the oven doors as they were quite flimsy and have broken.

It sounds like a thermostat problem – the power cut will not affect gas controls. You must get this dealt with by a CORGI registered engineer, so get on the phone first thing in the morning to have any chance of having this sorted for Christmas. I really wouldn’t worry about the handles for now, they can be ordered through spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk at your convenience – delivery now unlikely before Christmas.
