My wife thought putting the clean Christmas crockery into the dishwasher and advancing the control to the drying part of the cycle would heat up the plates nicely. Unfortunately it didn’t, presumably as there should have been water in the machine to heat up, and now the machine won’t heat the water on a normal cycle.

Is this likely to be a dead heater element, a dead thermostat or a control panel problem? I’ve read in other posts for different NEFF models that the track on the control panel to the heater circuit relay can fail. I’m an electronic engineer and comfortable taking things apart (with the power off 🙂 ) but thought I would check first. Also, is the control panel in the door panel?

Model is a NEFF S4132WOGB/11 FD7304 091560. Age unknown as it was built into the kitchen when we moved in 2 years ago.

    Many thanks and seasons greatings,

    Nick

Very likely the element has died or the overheat stat attached to it, so a new Element and Overheat Stat required.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I found 2 stats marked 85NC which I take to mean No Circuit at 85 deg. Sure enough, they both go from short to open circuit with the tips in a pan of near boiling water.

The element is open circuit so it has died. Shop@ does not list the element – can you or anybody else suggest the best place to order one, even better if likely to be open before the new year! (I’ve identified the part number as NEFF heater-element 2300W 282746)

    Cheers,

    Nick
