🙂 AL01 is the error code for flooded base. If so then your machine will more than likely be leaking into the base. If you gently tilt the machine to one side and water leaks out then this is the case. You will need to find and cure the leak. Click on the link in my sig if you need help.
Make sure to remove the plug before attempting any repair or inspection.

You may well have a leak due to incorrect refitting of the pump, you have to be very careful to get the black rubber ‘O’ ring in place.
It is also possible to replace the pump without locating all three of the securing lugs correctly.
If it didn’t leak before then its more than likely down to your pump repair/refit. 😉

With the machine on its side and disconected from the mains ,How does one find the leak?

If it wasn’t leaking before you touched it then it is almost certain that it is something you have done.
Is the small black rubber ‘O’ ring in place?
Is there actually water in the base when it flashes the error message, its possible you may have refitted the wires to the float switch incorrectly if the base is dry.
Its not always possible to actually see it leaking when on its side but you can often see signs of water on the various components.

I’ve just fixed (hopefully) an AL05 error on my DWF70 (filter area not clearing all water) and put everything back together again. Although the AL05 seems to have gone, I’m now getting an AL01 error flashing and it won’t stop running i.e. it switches back on after I’ve stopped it. I did remove the leak check connector when taking it apart to check the pump for bits and pieces and put it back without looking too closely at it I must admit. I’ve taken it apart again and the base is actually not showing any signs of a leak i.e. no water on it.
The leak switch connection is mentioned but which of the 3 connectors on the leak switch should be used for the plug just in case I’ve got that wrong as per the reply suggestion from iadom? Fyi, circa 2006 I used the web to fix a pump blockage (AL03 msg if I remember correctly???) and all OK till recently with this AL05 msg.

The connector plug to the float switch should go on the terminals that are NO ( normally open)
If you have replaced it incorrectly then it will go into instant error before even trying to fill.December 1, 2014 at 11:56 am #159041JGJ001

Thanks. I checked leak connection and all seems OK. I then ran a short clean (about 30 mins)and it ended OK. The next day I ran a full clean option of 1 hour 24 mins. Guess what came back? The AL05 message after practically the full run and dishes were actually clean. The only “blockage” I can see (from inside the door of the dishwasher) is the bottom of the filter area where about 1 inch or so of water sits, exactly the same as when it first appeared. Previously when I got down to checking the pump for debris etc, I’d felt the tube seemingly coming from this area for a blockage but it seemed fine. I have no idea how to remove the filter container to see if anything is stuck there so any advice on that would be gratefully received.

AL05 can be
Mesh plate, filter or microfilter, pressure sensor, pressure
switch, circulation motor, time of day, wind direction, an R in the month etc.Indesit appliances are not known for their reliability and the electronics used are very flaky at the best of times.

Thanks again, Iadom. I guess it needs a bit more than my very basic knowledge and DIY skill on this to get a full recovery or even a full diagnosis. 🙁
We haven’t used it too much this week but when used, it hasn’t changed i.e. short program ends OK, full length program ends with AL05.
