ParticipantHi all,
First of all i’ts a Hygena Diplomat Select – model number AHY3300
Secondly the problem, which I must admit has been self induced 😕
Basically the ovens timer/clock started to make the loudest whirring noise which will wake me from my much needed beauty sleep. Of course i’ve tried the old engineering solution and gave it a good old thump, which to begin with cured the noise but now find that it is doing it all the time, very annoying!!!!!!!!
I’ve been turning the oven off at the mains every night to combat this problem but……….
thinking that I was being a clever clogs and with my new tool box decided that the best option would be to disconnect the noisy clock!
Opened front end of cooker and removed connections from clock which I thought would work but I now know that the oven wont work without the clock connected, so decided to reconnect clock but in my haste forgot to turn mains off and earth wire (blue) to clock touched metal casing and tripped the main fuse board and almost me 😕
Now oven wont work at all even though i’ve correctly reconnected wires to clock and reset main fuse board.
Is it possible that i’ve blown an internal fuse within the cooker??
Has it got an internal fuse??
Any help would be appreciated, thanks albi901

You have almost certainly blown the switching mechanism for the oven contained in the timer unit.

Nice1 thanks for all the advice 😀
Might sound a bit odd but I wanted to get new oven anyway as this one is rubbish so may put repair costs into new oven and hob.
Cheers albi901
