ParticipantHi,
I have a F&P 708 washing machine that stops on the wash cycle and beeps every second. Code displayed is 10000011. I have tried to enter diagnostic mode but can’t seem to as I was using instructions from a post for a GW509. I have just replaced the lid switch and the out of balance switch which got the machine working to the point where it won’t complete the wash cycle. Any Ideas. Thanks

More Info.
Model No GW708U Serial No LAL599785 purchased 25/5/98. It appears will not spin now. Did yesterday. Thumps a few times then beeps every second. Managed to enter diagnostics and code is same as before 10000011. Also noticed yesterday machine had a nasty squeak coming from bowl when filling. Email is chmz@iname.comThanks

Opps,
Error code was written down left to right. From right to left it would be 11000001. Sorry

Probably the motor position sensor failed, although can be motor control board.
Left to right was correct BTW 😀 .

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Found the problem. Stator has radial cracks in it allowing it to expand and hit the magnets in the rotor hence the squeaking sound. It also moves back and forth only stopped by plug in motor postion sensor. Is it worthwhile getting another stator? Is it possible motor controller board is US as well. Are stators expensive? Maybe time for another machine. Any recommendationsThanks for your help.

As far as I can work out, any ’96 on stator should fit – these are fitted to machines whose model numbers end in 8 or 9.
A new stator is p/no 426181P – being in England, I can’t advise on prices.
HTH,

Have installed a stator from a dumped MW059AU which is a bit different. Measures 32ohms across terminal where the old one was 12ohms. Terminals are smaller and copper wire is smaller diameter. This stator has radial cracks in it as well (F&P need some better plastic). Machine runs fine but still posts error code 00001011. Have ordered the correct stator 426181P from F&P in Aust for a cost of $121.24 Au delivered. Hopefully this will solve the error code and machine will run for another 7 years.
Thanks for all the help. This is a great site.January 9, 2006 at 12:51 am #159982Penguin45

Installed the correct stator and machine started to fill in bursts then stoped. Replaced motor postion sensor with unit from other machine and all seems fine now. Have washed 1 load and it worked as it should. When going intod diagnostics still displays error code 10000011 which I think = 131 motor position sensor fault. Will see how it copes with more washes.
Thanks for the help

May not be a problem – the electronics will remember the “last fault” for up to 8 washes.
Good luck with it.
