Deciding whether to replace this machine (S/N 12975419) now 4 and half years old. Just stops during wash cycle – no easy pattern detected (which is giving us some reluctance in calling out an engineer).

It certainly, in last 2/3 weeks, doesn’t like the timer being used or quick wash – this starts the wash OK, washes for a while, heats the water – then the “time remaining” will stay the same for a few minutes and then revert back to the original time required for that wash. Resolution seems to be empty and restart wash on any wash not timed or quick (and this works 9 times out of 10). (On 4/5 occasions this has been preceeded by the machine “sceeching” as if the belt has slipped when trying to rotate/spin??)

Random fault worth calling the repairer in or get a new one??!!

Don’t write-off your machine too easily as it may be a relatively simple fix and certainly worth expert intervention I would say 😉

Worth getting the motor checked out – if the carbon brushes are very worn all sorts of strange things can happen, including the screeching noise.

Power off if have a look yourself.

    Thanks all,

Niggle in the back of my mind for carbon brushes but felt it may be more technical. Will check first and get back.

    Thx

    Ken
