The Catalan Waste Management Agency has awarded TPA, Tecnicas de Proteccin Ambiental S.A., an FCC subsidiary, a contract to manage the processing and recycling plant for refrigerators and other appliances containing chlorofluorocarbons.
The plant is located at the Pont de Vilomara i Rocafort Industrial Estate in Bages (Barcelona). The term of the contract award is 10 years, with the possibility of a six-year extension, and is expected to generate revenues of 50 million euros.
The FCC Group has managed this plant since 1995, the first recycling plant for used refrigerators in Spain.
